Partial Opening of Lloyd Park

posted 4 Aug 2012 13:07 by Lloyd Park
On Friday 27th July 2012 part of the park was opened to coincide with the Olympic Opening Ceremony. The island and some of the paths were opened to the public, but there is still weeks of work left in getting the play area and the Hub buildings ready. The Bowls Pavilion is now 6months behind schedule!

The path across the island opens up the park so that visitors to the William Morris Gallery are encouraged to visit the park and visitors to the park can come and visit the Gallery. The Gallery's Tea Room is now open and doing brisk business.

The Council have still not said when the Hub buildings will be opened which will be operated by
Waltham Forest College who have been recommended for a RIBA award for their developments at their main site in Forest Road.
